Caring for your ceramics
All our ceramics are made with stoneware clay fired to 1200 degrees and all glazes are non-toxic, ensuring that they are all food safe.
While all the pieces are dishwasher safe, we recommend you hand wash pieces to ensure longevity as the chemicals in dishwashers can be very harsh and there is a greater risk of chipping as pieces clang together during the dishwasher cycle.
Avoid moving your handmade pottery directly from cold environments to hot environments (e.g. from the fridge to a preheated oven), as this may cause your ceramics to crack and break due to thermal shock. Always warm teapots or large mugs with a little hot water before filling and place any ovenware in a cool oven to allow it to come to temperature along with the oven itself. Avoid placing your pot over an open flame, or directly on a heating element.
*Please note that red clay pots are not microwave safe, as it can overheat due to the high iron content, but in general we would advise avoid microwaving pots all together, as it can shorten the lifespan.
